Gone but never forgotten. They will always be in my heart and in my memories.

Miss Winston was my first dog. She started life out as a stray puppy, but by 12 weeks old she found a permanent home. She taught me so much about animal behavior. She was a very independent dog and a quick study. She was always willing to try something once which opened my world to so many dog related activities. Winst, not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Your life was taken away much too soon, but the memories you left behind will live on forever in my heart.

Scout just showed up at my house one day. I offered him some food and he never left. He spent a lot of time outside because he wouldn't think twice about stealing food right off your plate as you were eating it. Counter surfing was not just a hobby for him. ;-)

Dallas & Rusty were my first 2 cats. They were littermates and about 11 weeks old when I got them. I planned on making them outside cats, but the day I brought them home, a pair of Barred Owls flew in, sat in an oak tree in the front yard and stayed for several days. Dallas & Rusty quickly became indoor cats to avoid becoming owl food. Rusty typically used his sister as a pillow and Dallas frequently groomed her brother. They loved sitting in my lap and were fairly dog savy.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
